What snacks are safe to give my chicks? They are 6 days old, I started sprinkling chick grit over their food yesterday evening? What will be safe to give them at a week?

Chick feed is all they need. Try adding warm water to feed(so it resembles oatmeal)chicks love this.

I know that is all they need, but I could give them snacks too. WHen they are about 4 days old the mother feeds them whatever she finds. Sooo.... I wanted to give them snacks. I might try that! Thanks

If you're providing grit, feed them whatever you'd like. My chicks like yogurt, boiled eggs, leafy greens, apple cores and their very favorite.......a big clump of dirt and grass dug fresh from the yard! Good luck

Oh, okay. Earthworms? They are 2 weeks tomorrow.

I've given mine chunks of sod and they love it! Dried meal worms, veggie scraps greens and of course their all time fave earthworms! I've been waiting to give them a cricket cause I hear its a hoot watching them case after it ... But I have yet to try it! Good luck!

I would like to give them crickets! They had a spider, what about slugs and when can I give them earthworms. They don't care for greens.. Lol

My two week old chicks go crazy over ants! They are gone in seconds. Lots of fun

Remember if a broody hen was taking care of them she would be feeing them all sorts of bugs and plants from the outdoors, so its pretty safe to feed most of what you feed your bigger girls but in smaller portions.
