Chick speaking inside egg, how long to hatch ?

Thanks guys! Chicken diapers look pretty cool so I'll try them and I'll also try the soil tip that cool gave and I'm kind of worried about one of my chicks, he hasn't been walking much, he only got up once is that good or bad?

Well, I think I lost a chick:( Chick #3 was scheduled to hatch yesterday and it's doing nothing. On day 20 it was moving around like crazy and now it's still, no sound, nothing... I think I messed up by opening the lid too much to help #2 hatch the other day. I'm so mad at myself. At what point do I remove it?? How long does everyone wait? How would I know for sure it's passed?

On a side note, Chick #1 and #2 are doing great and are all cute and fluffed up now:)

Id give it another day .. or so .Some are lazy. .

tottaly normal mine was doing the same but as he fluffed up he got more active but wont walk or stand I gusse we wait a bit
If it goes on for longer than today I would give it a little boost. Tiny mashed egg yolk , couple crumbles of starter mixed and a pinch of sugar.... all mixed into a Lot of water
.NOt cold... air temp
You want it liquid not mushy so tiny amounts of both solid foods then feed it with an eye dropper every couple hours a few drops like 3 Should really look like murky water not mush at all. .If its just weak that will perk it up in one day. Some need an extra boost.
They do fall down sleeping a lot the first day or even 2 sometimes 2 steps sleep .

I agree with Roxanne, give it a day or two, don't give up yet. Good luck :) what breed are you raising?

Well, my second egg hatched but the egg shell it came out of looks different than the first egg. The first one was clean, a few blood vessels (not messy), but the second egg has yucky green and yelow stuff in it and looks wet, like jelly. Does this mean anything? I wish I could post a picture of what I'm seeing. Is this normal? The chick seems fine, but his abdomen looks odd shaped.
The green and yellow is poo.It wilfall off andhe will be fine
Dont worry about it
The tummy don't know unless I see Odd shaped?Like how. .

Iowa Blue Chickens :) I also have astralorps, (I think I butchered the spelling?), barred rocks, gold stars, buckeyes, speckled sussex, one jersey giant rooster named Rex, and just yesterday I ordered my first eggs online. I bought some lavender orpingtons, so I hope they go well. My favorite is defiantly the Iowa Blues:) These Iowa Blues hatching are a mix and I'm not sure what rooster got to them. The hens I bought a month ago from a lady so the chicks aren't pure yet. Now I have them in their own coop. I also was given 44 pure Iowa Blue eggs a couple of weeks ago and they should be hatching next week. I'm excited for that hatch!! I'm hoping to have some hens with more silver penciling. Sorry, Now I'm rambling...
