I'm in the process of introducing my 4 new pullets to my 1yr. hens - the pullets are about 12-15 weeks old; this alone is proving to be fun; can anyone tell me if it is OK for the older hens to eat medicated chick starter? I didn't want the younger ones eating the layer pellets for a few more weeks.

Ideally you could pick up a bag of grower crumble. It has lower protein (usually around 15 % protein) and is not medicated usually. If you live near a Tractor Supply Store they have it. The hens can eat it too and you can offer oyster shell free choice in a separate dish.
