Didn't think of thatWater will chill a chick trying to hatch. Even the damp paper towel. Better to use coconut oil or antibiotic ointment. Just stay clear of the nares.

He is hanging in there! I managed to get the wing away from his eye with some difficulty though. My only problem now is how his eyes look. They are watery and greyish looking, could it be an eye infection?
That is probably the reason why she had such trouble. Will her sissor beak get worse as she ages? She also seems to be smaller than the other chicks, her egg was smaller that average. could that also be a factor in why she has had such a rough early life?No, but its manageable if its not too severe Feed her from deep dishes . She will probably use her bottom beak like a shovel. This is why she couldnt hatch. .
How could I trim it?It can get worse but hopefully it is crooked in such a way you might be able to trim it up some. Was she from a pullet egg? Im not sure the cause of it. Breeder diet maybe.
