chick that cant walk... How do i help it

I hatched chicks with my students this year and we had one exactly how you describe your little gimpy guy. I don't know if this helped, but I held her a lot and would lift her just above the ground so her legs we dangling with feet touching the floor, where she would trying to move them (like walking in the air

). Just over a day later, she was hobbling around and not more than 3 days later, she was running around so well with the others that you wouldn't have ever known that she spent her first 18 hours of life stranded with her legs sticking out uselessly in front of her. So don't fret. It seems these things often have a way of working themselves out

Unfortunately, the best I can think to tell you is that you may want to give if a couple more days... Try and determine if the legs are paralyzed or are just weak. Another possibility is injury.
If it isn't underdeveloped/malformed leg muscles or an injury, everything else points to diseases that are quite serious, which means the little guy will be better off if you put it down.
Sorry I can't be more of a help

, I know it's hard when you're rooting for one of the chicks but they just don't seem to get better despite what you do... I have one right now who's sick

Good luck!

my first ever round of incubating and raising chicks was hoping for a healthy bunch but i guess their has to be 1 that needs help sometimes...

its just really weird that she will walk on her knees or haunches but wont put her feet down... her knees have bandages on them because she was giving herself sores her left knee had an almost open sore so... ya its been a tough time with her...

Is she pooping? Sometimes chicks can't walk do to blockage. Very common. Just put in warm water I also give brewers yeast in their daily water
