Chick Turning Circles

I have four 4 week old chicks, different breeds. The Ameraucana (Alice) doesn't act like the others. I'm pretty inexperienced with chickens so I don't know if there is something wrong with her or it's just a developmental phase??? Anyway, since day one, she turns circles and peeps, like she's looking for her mama - not constantly, but occassionally throughout the day. If all the other chicks get out of her sight she'll just stand there and peep instead of looking for them - they have to come find her. She's more anxious than the others and usually turns circles when I'm near (the others are pretty calm), so I considered that it might be anxiety, or even a sight problem, but she seems to get around fine and eats from the feeder and scratches and eats also. The other 3 go crazy for worms - when they see the yellow tray I feed them the worms from they throw themselves at the side of the run trying to get to them before I can get the door open. Alice will eventually run to the tray, but she usually just stands on it or runs back on forth on it, or scratches. I don't think she's ever gotten one. Has anyone seen this behavior before - especially the turning.

I don't have any turning circles, but I do have a few that act lost.

They'll be a week old Tuesday. I have two that for no reason at all look straight up in the air and start peeping at the top of their lungs. (I can hear them 30 feet away through a closed door) Then all the sudden they'll look around like " oh, that's where everybody is" and just run over to the pack. It's kinda funny to watch, but then I feel bad for them if they were doing that because they were scared.

Are you sure she can see? Kind of sounds like she can't see without hearing where things are.

could be a neuro problem? try giving poly-vi-sol which is high in B vits and can help sometimes. I had one who's head would whip around, gave it vits and he is fine! good luck what ever is happening!
