Hey everybody!
I have a beautiful little Sicilian Buttercup pullet named Isi from Meyer hatchery that is 8 days old, and just today I noticed she is acting funny. When I received the chick, I got her with 37 other chicks and I ended up losing 14 chicks, but I haven't had a death in a few days, and the hatchery is sending replacements. So about the chick:

She is walking like hurt sparrow is the best way I know how to describe it. You know how they walk low to the ground with their wings spread out? That is how she is acting. She is eating and drinking fine, but acting very feeble otherwise. She weighs a bit less than the other chicks. She doesn't walk when she is in with the rest of the chicks, so I took her out and gave her some food and water and she gorged herself like she has never eaten before. I am now carrying her around with me, and she seems content. I checked her legs and they don't seem to be broken.

What can I do other than what I'm doing? She is my only Sicilian Buttercup and I really don't want to lose her!

Perhaps she is not strong enough to compete for feed and water. Could you set up a separate brooder for and another very mellow chick ?

I did set up a separate brooder for her, and I was going to give her a few hours to herself. I have been giving her plenty of attention, and tomorrow I will get another chick to keep her company.

Is it possible this is a vitamin deficiency?

I don't think she is too warm, because she walks like that all the time, and I had her out for a while this morning, and I could tell it was getting cold but was still walking like that.
