CHICK W/ SEVERELY BROKEN LEG! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! (PICS & VIDEO!!)

I saw the video...very sweet peep you got there.
It also seems to have bonded well with you by the sound of its "purring".
Hope all goes well for your young one.

Awesome....
The still frame shows me a bright eyed, healthy chick that's ready to get going. The video shows us that she can definately get around for food and water. That one leg will just get stronger and her coordination will develop accordingly. She will not be able to scratch, but hey, life is still great!

Thanks for the updates and keep them coming..this is one special chick!

By the way, what is happening with the bum leg? Is it just curling under her and atrophying?

Yes it is atrophied.

and Oreo seems to be trying to peck it off. but for now it is clean and has not become infected.

but there is obviously no blood flow. Oreo is unable to do anything with it. the leg just kind of dangles.

Don't try this at home folks. We're trained professionals.

Good luck! The leg is probably dead.... by the looks of the first two pics. If it is hard it is dead, if it's still soft, it's still alive. Eventually it will probably fall off so do keep an eye on infection, especially gangarene if it is dead and doesn't fall off soon.

I believe people have successfully raised a bum leg chick, but from my experience by the time the chick was a few weeks old and started to gain some weight, the leg gave out on them and then they had two bum legs. Hope that does not happen to you. Good luck!

Heres another video of Oreo. This ones a little better quality and shows Oreo having a quick snack. You would not believe how courageous this little chick is. She has adapted SO quickly and though she stumbles and falls a lot,

she ALWAYS get up to try again. ALWAYS. You can just see it in her eyes, she is trying SO hard to have a normal life. It breaks my heart to watch her struggle.

I want to thank everyone for ALL the help and support. It means a lot. Thanks.

Thanks for the prosthetic suggestion! I will look into it a little more and see if I can build my own little chicken foot. LoL
