Chick will not stand/walk

This chicklet was one of the last few born (almost 23 days from start of incubation). Hatched last Thursday, Feb 3rd.

It has never been able to stand. Looked like splayed leg and curled toe. Taped its feet to cardboard for a day and the curl got a lot better. Hobbled it and tried helping it stand for a few minutes a few times a day but it will not extend its legs.

My wife found a video of a lady that suspended a chick in a jar with some felt and so she tried that yesterday but it still won't let its feet hang. Mainly on the right is always tucked up tight to the body but doesn't seem to be in any pain or distress if I pull it down. Any thoughts/direction would be greatly appreciated.

Can you get better pictures of the chick's hocks? They seem a bit gnarly, but a better picture will determine how much.
I'm not at home right now. This is one I took on the first day right after I put on the hobble (but before taping the feet). I can remove the hobble tonight and get a better picture if that's helpful.

When you get home, good current picture would be nice.

The hocks are pretty swollen. Maybe you're dealing with a variation of Slipped tendons.

As current as can be. Is that the tendon on the inside of the joint?

Yes, it's a very bad case of slipped tendons, plus infected sores.

Not quite sure what you mean?

I'll tag in some people to see if they can help, but I have the feeling it's been left too long without proper treatment.

Thanks so much for your quick responses.

I’m new to chickens and new to the forum. I posted about this little one on hatch day in the hatching forum with little response. I wish I had found this section first.

I was asking if the darker section on the inside (closer to the chicks middle) was the tendon. Maybe there’s still some hope to get it back in place.

You're welcome.

That's a point of the joint, the tendon runs down the middle, but may have slipped into that pocket.

Poor thing.
I may be slipped tendon or it could be Mycoplasma Synoviae since it's symmetrical.

I'm very sorry, but after 5 days, personally I would cull the chick and put it out of it's misery. Not being harsh, just realistic. If the issue hasn't been corrected by now, then very likely it never will.
