I have four chicks. I've noticed one is developing a bare butt. I don't know if the chick is overpreening or the other chicks are plucking out the feathers. I have the ability to put the chicks in two brooder cages or dog crates. The cages are pretty open so the chicks will be able to see each other and not be lonely. Should I go and separate the chicks to avoid a bigger wound? Should I move the babies inside under a heat lamp? They are residing on my porch because temps are in the high 80s to 90s here.
