I am new to this site. I have been raising chickens for about 3 years. We just recently hatched some chicks. I have a question about one of my chicks. She is about 4-5 weeks old. She wasn't able to use one of her legs so I researched on here about it. I have been giving her poly vi sol and giving electrolytes in water. That has helped a ton. Her leg is a lot stronger but know she cant walk. Its like she has forgotten how to walk normal. She can stand for a few minutes but then she falls like loosing her balance. Sometimes when she stands she put one foot on the other foot. Not sure what to do to help her walk. Is there like a physical therapy I could try? Any advice on what to do would be so appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Alright this may sound silly but feed her a hard boiled egg
once to twice a day as this is their natural medicine and
see if after a week this helps out

Thank you. I will try that. Any more advice will be appreciated.

Thank you. I will. Her legs are working? I think it might have to do with her equilibrium.

There are a few problems they can be born with that makes it hard to walk. Splay leg is one, but a slipped achilles tendon is the worst one where one leg turns out to the side. Here is a link that may help you, and a thread that shows a picture of slipped tendon: https://sites.google.com/a/poultrypedia.com/poultrypedia/poultry-podiatry

She wasn't born like this. It just happened a couple days ago. I notice she was not moving like the other chicks & noticed she wasn't using one leg. I have been giving her poly vi sol & that has helped. She has strength in it now she just cant stand up or walk. She leans to one side a lot. I have her in a donut to see if this will help. Not sure how long I will see results. Does it take a while?

Sorry that I misunderstood you. Does she drag the leg, or hop around with it up? She may have sprained or broken it. A chick chair might help if it's sprained. Here is a picture from BYC of Artsyrobin's chick chairs

Update we had to cull her as she was not getting better.
