One of my 7 week old GLW pullets has some beginning beak issues. (i previously suspected it was a roo, but now may be just a different beak than the others) The lower beak is longer than the top and sometimes when the beak is closed they look even and other times looks like it is crossing. This chick is slightly smaller than the rest and now I am wondering if it's been having trouble eating...seems to get some food in right now. Today I gave the food as a mash and it seemed to help. I'm worried it will only get worse.

DO I call a vet...what vet sees chickens??

Thanks for ANY advice!

I'll try to get a picture, but it's difficult right now.

If she has crossed beak, you will need to make sure that the feed is deep so that she can scoop it out with the lower beak.

Watching the chick, I think feeding might already be challenging.
I'll put in a deep dish two for them.

I have heard of trimming the beak...should I do this and if so...HOW? Is a vet needed?

I have 2 crossbeaked chickens and one with a I don't know how to explain it kinda how you said the top is longer though and it grows off to the side on the end. Only one of them needs help eating, so I fill a old fish tank of food and put her in it and close the lid and let her eat like that once or twice a day for an hour and then let her back out.

As far as I can tell, the beak is not crossed yet...the bottom is just longer than the top. It looks like wetting the food helps.
