Chick with birthmark or something red between the eyes

I went to check on my newly hatched chicks and found one to have a red birthmark or scab between its eyes. I didnt get to inspect them before putting them in the brooder so I don't know if it was there before. Its not bleeding just red and dry. I put some ointment on it for now. Has anyone seen this before?

Could it have gotten burned by the heating element in the bator???

no the heater is about 15 inches above the bator. the chick is only a day old. the baby can't jump yet.

Does it act like it is in pain? I have never seen this either!

it flinches if i touch it ...to apply ointment. other than that acts like a baby chick
