He was peeping and had pipped at day 18, when day 20 hit we made the hole bigger VERY carefully, and he had pushed himself out halfway before we made the decision

Oh. It's amazing he made it that far TBH. I'm sorry he had such a sad ending. It would have been impossible for him to live that way though.

Very sorry for your loss. Yes in your second picture, it was much more obvious that the chick could not live with that deformity. Good luck with the others.
