Hi. I have some 2 1/2 week old chicks. One of the chicks has an un-lined jaw and I'm concerned. It could be broken or dislocated or just defected, not sure. It seems to be eating and drinking on its own. Can I do anything to make it better? Or is it best to humanly put it down?? Thanks

One of my chickens had a cross beak, she could eat and drink on her own. The only extra care was to trim her beak every so often so it didn't over grow, She lived three or four years before she died. She layed eggs for a while it looked a lot like what your chick looked like, the beak will get more mis shapened as the chick grows. If it has trouble eating you can mix their food with water to make it easier to eat. If the chick is eating and drinking I would not put the chick down, they can live a long life, Hope this helps
