Since they have each others company, I don't think they will be too stressed.
Are they in a large cage when indoors?
Do you not have a yard with room for a coop & run?

Since you have the two of them together they shouldn't be stressed to not have any humans around. If the cage indoors is big enough they will be fine being enclosed during the day. Or you can make them a run outside to spend the day in. I think they'd like that a lot.
