Chick with diarrhea

Yes this is my first time having chicks so once I saw this it kind of alarmed me. They are all running around and eating and drinking normally but I’m just going to keep my eye on them and holding the treats for a few days to see what’s going on.

I'd google some pics of "cecal poop chickens" so you can compare. This thread may help too...

Looks like Cecal Poop to me. There are allot of different poops that can be concerning yet completely normal. I have found a pretty good reference What's the Scoop on Chicken Poop? Gives allot of examples of normal and abnormal poop.

If your chicks are all running around acting normal there is no need to be alarmed.
If the go off feed and start acting sluggish then it would be good to have Corid on hand.

I wouldn't want you to start hammering chicks with meds if nothing is wrong.

I agree I would not start medicating my chicks unless I knew for sure they had coccidiosis. With that being said I would recommend with new chicks that you have corrid on hand.

I have had chickens for a few years and I have only used ONE thing on the above list.
Epsom salt and only used it once.
No saying it's not good to have some things on hand BUT it is not necessary to go over board, imo, and have everything on hand.

A secure house and a complete feed go a long way to keeping chickens safe and healthy.
