Chick with goopy eye

I have a chick whos eye is goopy and has like a film over it, She cant close her eye all the way, if i can get it cleaned off enough for it to close its eye, is it ok to put neosporin or bacitracin zinc ointment on it...I dont have any terramycin though

anyone know? i got clean now but is it ok for neosporin? or bacitracin antibiotic ointment

The only thing you should put in or around the eye is ointment specifically for the eye. After you cleaned it up did the goopy stuff come back?

I used medical grade iodine on my chick with a goopy eye... after washing it with warm water and a rag... and it cleared up immediately!!
