I've had luck with holding a spoon full of water to the beak too.
I'm too chicken to try to drop water with a dropper into a chicks mouth..afraid I would kill/drown it.

I used a shot glass with water in it, rubbed a little water on the side of the beak, and got Zane (the alert one) to drink from the shot glass, too. Not Dead Fred would then drink with a little encouragement...

Zane and Not Dead Fred are doing much better this morning. In the picture, Zane is sitting down cleaning her toes. Not Dead Fred is standing behind her.
