Thank you for your reply. I lost her. I have not had one survive with this. Now I have one extremely small Serama that keeps getting pasty butt. He acts like he is not going to make then pulls thru and two days later (today) he is plugged again. This is the third time for him. He is eating but only when I assist. And so much smaller than the rest. His feathers are already frizzling up. I have been using polysporin (no pain relief) but may try almond oil or vasoline today. i clean him with soap and water, then apply the gel. I hate loosing them. Ha two dead in the grow out nursery yesterday. I think they were run over by the other chicks. I checked them constantly but they were a little wobbly. All we can do is our best efforts. Sometimes I think the failure to thrive wins because they have not developed enough to survive. Best wishes.
