My poor little chick looks to have a slipped tendon on her right leg. She is only 4 days old! I have bandaged her leg yesterday but all it does is swell up her leg, but when I loosen the Vet Wrap, it would just fall off. I have given her some aspirin with yogurt and put some ointment on her hock, which doesn't look infected, but as a precautionary measure. Should I try to make a splint for her? She is in the brooder with her 4 other siblings and still gets around quite well.

I have just done some leg stretching exercises with her, but the tendon just won't stay in place at all. Should I just let her be? I can't cull....I do not have it in me.

Any other options?

Oh dear...I hope someone can help.
I totally understand not being able to cull....
I can't either. I'm waaay too much of a pansie for that.
Good luck!

You have to buck up and do what's right for the chick. Slipped tendons rarely can be fixed. I speak from experience. Euthanizing birds is part of owning them. If you can't, then you'll have to pay a vet to do it or get a friend to do it for you. I know it isn't easy, but it's sometimes necessary.

I don't have any experience with this myself, but I googled it for you. I found this site http://poultrykeeper.com/diseases-disorders/skeletal-and-muscular/slipped-tendon.html which says that a B vitamins and Maganese supplement can help decrease further problems. I also found this sight http://www.shagbarkbantams.com/faqleg.htm which explains how to amke a "chick chair" to keep the chick off it's leg for awhile to rest it. I also found this site http://www.voy.com/194762/242.html which mentioned that if the swelling is down you may be able to slip the leg back into position, but otherwise the chick chair may be your only option. Hope some of that helps. I also hope your chick pulls through. I know that culling can be hard. If you decide the chick is suffering too much maybe you can find someone else to help you with culling....
