Chick With Slipped Tendon

If I remember correctly, it doesn't seem like it was too hard to get it in place. The trouble was trying to get it to stay there! And splinting the leg in a manner that would hold up. The chick could get around fine but when I removed the splint or it managed to remove the splint it just went right back out. I think I left it splinted for 3 days. Then a week. Then 2 weeks. I don't think I left it splinted for longer than that, but it was several years ago. I know I found either an article or a thread about it on BYC and that is how I figured out what to try.
Good Luck!
I think I got to it too late - I've tried pushing - its not easy and I couldn't get the tendon back into place. I tried splinting yesterday to prevent further rotation and it must have been too tight because her foot was swollen by the end of the day. Today no splint and her knee is swollen and hot because her leg is rotated and she's putting pressure on the wrong places. At this point I'm trying to mitigate potential damage but I'm not too hopeful about her future prospects if she can't walk.

That's where I was when I decided to cull mine. It didn't seem fair ( in my opinion) to let it continue to suffer.
Hopefully, yours will turn the corner. Good luck!

I think you and I are on the same page. I really fight hard to help the ones that might have a chance, but when it's clear they don't euthanasia is the best option. Her leg joint is swollen and hot and she's quite subdued. Things are only going to get more difficult so I've made the decision to euthanize her. Not my favourite thing, but I don't want her to suffer. Thanks for your support.
