I know this thread is old, but I'm curious to know- how did things turn out with this chick?
I'm asking because I have a 5 day old chick who has a swollen abdomen. She is not pasted, she is eating and drinking and pooping, but their is a distinct roundish swollen area on her abdomen on the same side as her crop (I am certain that it is not her crop- which is filling and moving). It feels soft and maybe a little squishy- almost fluid like.
I'm hoping there is not something developmentally wrong with her.....but I'm not sure what it could be..?
Would love to know how things turned out, and if it was indeed a blockage.
