My chicks are 2 days old and I noticed this evening one of them has very swollen, bugged out looking eyes. He will open them and his yes look fine underneath, but since I lost one yesterday, I want to make sure it's nothing the others can catch. I am going to try to get a couple pics of the little guy... Perhaps someone can point me on the right direction?!!?

Post some pics asap. Sounds like there is something going on and they will need antibiotics. Don't delay because chickens decline quickly.

Here's the pics.

I've started all the chicks ok antibiotics as of last night, because I don't want to take any chances. I can find nothing in any of my books or online that match how that chick looks.

Thank you... After posting the pics last night, I searched and searched, looked thru articled and photos, but don't see anything that matches how this little guy looks. He/she seems to be healthy, appears to be eating and drinking so far. I am moving the little guys to the big box brooder in our well house today, and I have to separate the Bantys so they don't get trampled and I think I may also create a place for this little one, must in case.

I started them on antibiotics as well, just in case, so I will post if anything further comes up.

I hate feeling like the nervous mom who doesn't want to leave the kids home alone, ya know?

I don't blame you but I have to agree, from what I can see that doesn't look like an infection. It could be sinusitis though and just showing up in a different way.
Better safe than sorry.

I noticed today most of the other chicks were pretty active and "Buggy" (I know! I shouldn't have named him, but I've already gotten attached to the little guy!) seemed to kind of keep his distance. He kept falling asleep standing up. So, after searching high and low for Polyvisol without iron liquid vitamins and a single bottle of unflavored Pedialyte also without ruin I gave Buggy a drop or so of the vitamins, then everyone got some pedialyte. This evening, he seemed a bit more active, though I'm still not sure I should have named him. My boyfriend says I should cull him... But I simply cannot do that. So... I am saying a little prayer for Buggy and the rest of my little guys, and I hope you all will too. I guess Im a terribly nervous Mom.

Get him some antibiotics and put them all on it. You can get Oxytet at most feed mills. Go,go, go! Don't delay! This does not necessarily have to be fatal.
And if you don't do it, the others are liable to end up with it, too.
