I just got 3 new blue orpington chicks, out of the 3, 1 isn’t doing so great. I have never seen her eat or drink, I tried making her drink by dipping her beak on the water bowl and that’s the only thing she had. My water has electrolytes mixed with it. Could there any be a solution for this? I don’t wanna lose her.

  • Doesn’t have pasty butt
  • Correct temperatures
  • arrived at home 1 hour after I ordered
  • Not getting bullied by the other chicks

Is it lethargic? Not moving? Try getting her mouth open and putting a few drops of the water from your finger directly in. Once they realize they like it they go for the source.

Are these a week old, few days old? Week old and they should be running around. If first day or two old then I'd expect a lot of sleeping.

this is 4 day-old chick. It just closes its eyes and moves to other locations when she is warmed up or wants to cool down.

I also tried putting drops of water in her mouth, but she just continues to sit down.

Try to dip it’s beak into the water, letting it swallow, and repeat. Is there any poo stuck to it’s vent? Occasionally chicks will suffer stress from shipping, and make not make it. It looks pretty weak, so it might be too late.
