My husband has been basically begging for chickens for years. I swore up and down it was a hard no. Never happening. No way, Jose. Welp, here I am now with 10 amazing chickens and it’s been a pretty fun journey. We got 10 straight run chicks, 2ea of 5 breeds. I figure that fact alone says we’re new at this. We’re learning though and it’s been great. We’ve had to trade some Roos for new chicks and I swore I wouldn’t name any more until I was certain they were keepers (aka hens). BUT! The new ones have names already. I swear they TELL me what to name them. 😂

I’m having g a blast and I’m excited to be on here learning every day and seeing everyone else’s beautiful babies. 🥰

Welcome, after you get in to chicken keeping it can be addicting. We went from 4 to 20 in about 2 years. I'm sure I'll drive my husband crazy soon!

We’re backyard chicken “farmers” so thanks to city and HOA rules I think the chicken addiction will be kept in check for now. However! As soon as my MIL says yes we shall start growing her flock. How many chickens can you fit on 3.5 acres? Hahaha

Welcome - so glad you are enjoying your flock!
I got chickens by accident and was very wary of having them.
Now I spend most of my spare time tinkering with coop improvements and just sitting outside with them digging around my feet.
They are highly addictive!
😍

Welcome! My husband was the one who was resistant, and it was a struggle to get him to accept the 6 I said I wanted. As we kept talking, I kept ratcheting up the number and now we have 13. And my initially-reluctant husband now spends time in the coop, with a chicken or two on his lap, and says he loves them.
I bet he does! It`s hard not too! 😀 Awesome creatures!!
