Opinions on what this is please. We were able to get some gunk out of one. Hen grew annoyed at being restrained before we could work on the other. I suspect abcess. The picture sick my new phone has no flash.

I can't really say what that is (abscess is as good a guess as any) but it looks very severe. If she's a pet and you have the means to do so, I would seek veterinary care immediately. In the meantime, you can put neosporin without pain medication on and around the affected areas (around only, not in the eye itself). Antibiotics (duramycin and gallimycin are popular choices) and Sav-A-Chick electrolytes in the water can't hurt either.

More pictures of the lesions with the chicken in the light may help. If she has been pecked, there could be an abscess, and lancing it and getting the pus out would be the best treatment. Clean it with betadine before and after. Have you seen any fowl pox in the flock?

These pics might be better. I may have had some dry fowl pox but very minor

We will catch her again tonight for more treatment. Until my net arrives I can only catch her at bedtime

Thanks
