Hello, I am a new chicken owner. I have had them for a month now. Today 2 of them have pecked at rhubarb leaves. Not alot but a little. Now one of them is acting very strange she looks like she is sleeping but then she looks like she is going to squawk no noise comes out and then out of nowhere a loud comes out. She won't stop doing this while on her perch. Is this normal?????
Thank you

I did some searching and I think they will be ok. It turns out that they would have to have eaten a lot to do harm.

That said I would build a fence around it to keep them out.

I think they are about 25 weeks. They didn't eat alot. She is just acting very strange. And looks like she is not happy :( thank you for your response

I think the oyster shell in their feed should be enough to counteract any oxalate toxin from a small amount of rhubarb.

The noise thing IS odd......

Is it getting dark where you are?

If she headed to bed and isn't drooling or breathing with difficulty I would let her be and check her in the morning.

Do you know if she laid an egg today?
When did she last lay if not today?
