2 Days ago when I was putting my birds to bed I noticed one of my hens was not jumping on to the perch and her tail was down I picked her up and put her on the perch with her friends, the next morning I let them out and she did not come out so I picked her up and put her on the ground with her friends but she just stood there so I nudged her and she took a step forward but she was limping/knuckling her foot really badly, at first I thought bumble foot but I picked her up and her foot looked fine, so I carried her over to my carport and put her in a dog crate with food and water
She was breathing really heavily after I carried her, it was very raspy breath and her comb went purple! I was so worried.
I left her be and came back a little later and her colour had come back
I made her some scrambled egg with oats, tomatoes and sweetcorn, she was very happy and ate loads
Here is a video of her https://pin.it/1aPL9Z90h
That night we put her back in the coop with her friends and as my mum was carring her she started coughing and breathing really raspy as my mum put her in the coop she was coughing some stuff out and she dragged her leg and sat at the back of the coop
The next morning (today) we let them out and she was still sat at the back of the coop so we took her back to the crate and she was breathing funny again, we made her some more scrambled egg oats and tomatoes (she had not really eaten the sweetcorn) we put some vitamin b complex in it too
tonight we went to check on her and she had not really eaten, I mixed the food (it was a bit dry on top) and some fell out of the bowl and she snatched it up so I sprinkled most of it on the floor and she was happily eat so I left her be, I will take her a heat pad tonight and see how much she has eaten

Just to summarize
I noticed her acting weird 2 days ago
She was liming and knuckling her toes
Breathing bad after being carried
She is one year old will be 2 this year
She laid eggs last summer but has stopped over winter and has not started yet
Her name is Raspberry

Happy to answer any questions
Thanks for reading

I couldn't see the video you might try uploading it here if it's small, or linking it from youtube.

There could be a number of things, Have you tried looking into her mouth? Right off the top, a yeast infection, internal laying, and canker come to mind.

If you can get a picture of the inside of her mouth if someone could help you. That might help.

How much does she weigh and has she lost weight? Does she feel boney compared to the others?

Does she close her eyes at all? What if any meds do you have on hand?

What does her crop feel like? Is there any smell from her mouth?

I looked in her mouth and it looks normal, will get a picture of her mouth tomorrow (it is night time for me)

So would the yeast infection cause this?
I felt her stomach and it feels normal
Don't think it's canker

I don't think she has lost weight and she feels the same as her friends

She blinks and she is alert

We have meds, meticam, fluids, antibiotics and a lovely vet

Her crop feels normal and no bad smell

Upload a video to YouTube and post a link to it here.
I don't have YouTube unfortunately (my mum won't let me)
I had posted it on Pinterest but I don't think the link works unless you have a Pinterest account

Odd that she's both limping and coughing. Did you get a look at what came up? Metacam or Meticam?
That is what I thought too
She only coughs if we put pressure on her chest like when we are carrying her but if we have her standing on our hand then she doesn't breath funny
No we didn't get a look at the stuff that came out
This is the stuff we have (it's active ingredient is the same as metacam) we have the dog one too which is 1.5mg/ml

Just went out to feed Raspberry and she was drink but she tried to turn around and she couldn't move her foot it was upside down so I helped her and put her foot the right way up and she could stand, it's like her foot is paralysed

She was eating well but she only eats scrambled egg, oats, and tomatoes, she does not touch her layers pellets

Just went out to give her some loxicom (pain med) and she still can't use her left leg very well she drags the foot but when I put her foot on my finger she griped it
We will see what the pain meds does

We are worried she might have mareks

How old is Raspberry? Does she lay eggs? A paralyzed leg with curled under toes could be a sign of a stuck egg pressing on her leg nerve, infection or other reproductive issue, a riboflavin (B2) deficiency, or an injury to her leg or hip. Mareks vaccination does not necessarily prevent Mareks. Was she vaccinated? I would continue to make sure that she can reach food and water. A chicken sling could help to get her upright and help with feeding for periods throughout the day. You could try giving her riboflavin which is found in human B complex tablets, 1/2 tablet daily crushed into food. Here is a link on home made chicken slings:

Raspberry will be 2 years old in July

She layed eggs last year and stopped laying last August and has not started again, I felt her stomach briefly and didn't feel anything but I will check again

She has not been vacancinated

She can sit down and stand up but she struggles to walk, she can reach her food and water easily and I have seen her eating and drinking

We have been mixing a b vitamin tablet in her food

If she has an Infection what should we treat it with??
Thanks
