Chicken and Dumplings....Go Ahead Drool..

This morning I just decreased my flock by a couple of 2 year old hens. Didn't wait, started slowly cooking them down right away. When the meat was falling off the bone I made up some dumplings. Oh my,

there just isn't anything as good as a hen that has been aged 2 years on the feet. An early dinner, YUM.

So drool, go a head and drool.

Then raise yours up for 2 years or more to see what I am talking about if you don't know.

You people have had me drooling so many times. Today it's your turn.

Oh my, I didn't even think of a picture.

I've waited 6 months for that dish.

That's why it was an early dinner.

I've shredded the left over chicken, well took the bones out. Saved a bit of broth that was left over for another small batch of dumplings for lunch tomorrow. Then chicken burritos tomorrow night. The rest of the meat is in the freezer already for other quick meals later. There's just 2 of us now so a LF chicken goes a long way.

Sorry, guess you'll have to make some to see just how good it looks.

Hope you have some older hens to cull.
