My husband's grandmother from Russia made this:
Brown chicken pieces in big pot with salt pork or small pieces of bacon, along with a cut up onion. When brown, turn to very low and add a cup or two of long grain rice. Add some dill. Cover and cook on low for 45 minutes to an hour. The chicken and rice get nice and crispy. I like to de-bone the chicken when done. Add salt and pepper to taste.
