She may be hiding a nest with eggs somewhere and the best way to find it would be to watch her and follow her when she disappears again. Which is easier said than done! Been there, done that :-) Don't let on that you are watching her and watch where she goes after she's eaten and ran around a bit. Good luck!

thanks a lot! tried to follow her but she spotted me! now shes disapeared again! silly chook;) thanks again :)

You have to be outside, but not look at her, pull a few weeds, or do something and completely ignore her. Don't let on that you are watching her. People say chickens are stupid, but a sneaky broody is something else! If she doesn't fall for that one, walk away slowly, but steal looks over your shoulder and watch where she goes. That's how I ended up catching my sneaky broody. She refused to go back to the nest until I turned my back, then she bolted. I watched where she went and searched that spot. She was sitting on 12 eggs that hatched less than a week later!

I heard her clucking and I spotted her coming out of a bunch of nettles I climbed all the way through them and still cant find a nest!

Oh to bad no chicks - she could be hiding for weeks trying to hatch them. Maybe you could catch her and keep her in the coop a few days till she gets over that notion. Otherwise you never know if a predator will spot her. She really is sneaky - maybe binoculars would help or wear camo clothes.

sorry havent been on this for a few days. i found her later on that day!
