Chicken Attacked by Dog - Need Advice *Warning Graphic Pictures*

I left it open last night since all bleeding had stopped and she seemed to hate the wrap. I'm hoping to get her to the vet today but they still haven't called me back like they said they would this morning so I don't know.
I would make a warrant on the dog. You don't want anything else to happen to the chickens.

Well, sadly she had to be put down today. The wound was just too extensive and the skin was starting to die, and the tissue underneath was drying out. The vet did it for me, and she just drifted off to sleep. I'm gonna miss my silkie girl.

I am sorry you had to have her put down. I was hoping she was going to be okay. My condolences

I have had the same problem in past, same description of wounds, wrote the chicken off as dead and found her 3 days later in a neighbors yard below freezing at night. Very resilient animals. A make shift er in the kitchen and some tetrahydrofuran or something like that antibiotics and she was back outside in a week. Goldie now knows stay closer to home. I would have fun w a $30 pellet gun if this predator kept coming to my yard, although it would not be to neighborly of me. Good fences do make good neighbors.
