I'm so sorry. I just read your post about her death. The hardest part of keeping chickens.

This may be helpful for someone in the future, though:

One other option I would consider viable is stopping by your vet's office and pick up some chlorhexadine rinse for irrigation. They will probably provide free 5ml syringes as well when you buy the rinse, on dog flesh I haven't seen any bad effects from its use.

I will admit I have yet to experience any chicken injuries.

I found Chlorhexadine at a CVS. It's used to clean injection or surgical sites.

There are huge bottles of it at the farm store. Brand is Durvet. I have used it to clean feet for bumblefoot surgery.
