My chicken was attacked by a hawk about 20 minutes ago. She is standing and can walk. She is missing half her face. The other half is normal, and there are no other injuries I see. I am freaking out. Please help me with what I sohuld do. I have only had her and my twp others since last summer, so I am still new to chickens. These ate the best pictures I could get for fear or hurting her more by movement.

Bring her inside to a basket or dog crate (which looks like what you have done already.) Keep it quiet, dim and warm. She may be in shock. Get some Vetericyn wound spray, and apply to her wounds. Saline will work until you get some. Apply some plain neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment twice a day to wounds. Offer her water and food when she settles down, but shock may last a day or so. Can she stand, and is she alert? Internal injuries can be possible, but she can definitely recover if she eats and drinks, and has no internal injuries.

Ok, that looks way worse than it is. Clean the area gently and apply some Neosporin. It looks like mostly feathers and earlobe, I'm pretty sure the eye is still there. You might want to segregate her for the night and keep an eye on her. I'm so sorry your little girl got hawked.

:goodpost: x2!!!

It looks bad, but I honestly don't see anything missing. It looks like 2 large bloody gashes, and that her eye is closed but not missing. Hopefully once you are able to clean it up you'll have a better idea, but for now keep her calm, get her cleaned up, and we'll help from there.

I was about to say the same things on the other thread. Noelle, you should delete the duplicate.

I agree with the others, good luck with her. I think it definitely looks worse than it really is. Chickens can be very resilient.

I hope she's okay All I can think of right now, is to keep an eye on her, especially through the night because I lost a rooster to shock. Make sure she is away from ANY loud noises or harsh lighting.

Another thing, if possible.... Weigh her, so you can get a baseline, and check it every so often, to see that she is maintaining her weight. She will likely slack off eating and lose a little, but you don't want her to lose too much.
