Too late now, but I would have thought someone would have mentioned keeping the new birds quarantined for a couple of weeks, away from the rooster but within sight, in case one of them is diseased. That would have also made integration easier.

QT would have been a good idea - although if they're within sight are they far enough away to be quarantined?

My rooster was smart; dialed one eye in for long range. When I turned him in with half a dozen hens, it took all of 10 seconds to mount the first one he saw.
