Does anybody have a quick & easy method to give a chicken a bath for 4H? We have 2 Thirteen week old RIR that are going to the fair next week.

Thanks
Jeff

I run the kitchen sink half full of warm water. I lower the bird into it with one hand cupping the chest, the other hand over the back (so it can't flap and flounder). Talk soothingly...they usually settle down within 20 or 30 seconds - which can seem like a long time if it's a bird that's not too tame...lol. Depending on how calm or not your bird is, use your hand or the sprayer (lightly) to wet down the chicken. I just use Dawn or another mild dishsoap for shampoo. Rince. I have a towel set out on the counter and set the bird there - towel dry - blow dry if you want or just place in a room to dry... That's how I do it. Most of my birds are easy to bathe, but if you have a challenging one, an extra person on hand is nice to have...
