Hello, I just purchased 3 rode island red hens, their beaks have been trimmed at some point, their top beak is very short and the bottom is growing out, it looks to me like the bottom needs to be trimmed back to allow them to eat easier, Does anyone have advise for me on what to do?

From what I understand, if their top beak has been trimmed (debeaked), they need the bottom beak to be able to scoop up feed in order to eat. HTH

Since they have grown up the top of their beak cut off, I say they are fine. The top part won't grow back but the bottom one should get worn away naturally as long as they have some dirt to scratch in.
