chicken beaks

My experience with beaks is limited to just trimming off the end to the quick. They will grow back, and maybe even more than before. I accidentally trimmed off both upper and lower beak on one hen past the quick (resulting in a long bout of bleeding) and it grew back just fine.

However, if your chicken's beak is radically cut off well past the end of the quick, I'm not sure at what point it would hamper the beaks' ability to regenerate.

How much of the beak is missing, could you tell us?
