Chicken Behaviors

I have a chicken that sits on the nest sometimes for 45 minutes to an hour but doesn't lay an egg. She use to lay but hasn't for awhile now. I know she is not egg bound because she would be dead by now.
She is my rogue chicken that sleeps in a tree rather than in the coop with the others. This morning she was down from the tree waiting on me to open the coop so she could get in on the nest but no egg. Anyone experience anything like this?

Could it be she is trying to go broody but just isn't a good one.

Is she old? I have one that does the same thing who is 4 years old.

I agree she may be trying to go broody. Keep looking for signs of listlessness, but if it aint broke... If she's not sick then she's ok, right? LOL

Well mine is also around 4 years old so maybe that is it.
