Those chickens definitely look like they're planning something over the compost heap![]()

what a lot of eggs in those nestboxes! is that you trying to encourage broodiness, or lots of other hens with a bit more bottle than the poor wee thing on the top?Tax. A hen way too terrified to go into the nest boxes, the broody monster is just too closeView attachment 4193885

I hope you and yours are not being threatened by the wild fires in Attica; looks awful around Keratea.
Yes, that's why I said it depends on the phone. Samsung will have these capabilities as well, the old Galaxy had manual ages ago - though since I switched to Pixels I don't know if it can capture RAW now, it could not back then.Do you have a Pro model Pixel? Mine doesn't let me do all of the depth of field and all the manual controls until after shooting the photo.
I have a mirrorless camera I lug around when I want photos taken with a real zoom lens.
My old Note 9 had more controls than my Pixel.
X2. I've learned so much! Thank you and please keep telling people about the limitations of a coop and run model. As you've said many times, people here in the U.S. seem to think it's fine. We need to at least try to do better for our feathered prisoners. That's one of the things I appreciate most on this thread, how much I have learned. Thoughtful discussions on feeding, habitat, roosters and brooding and the occasional sidetrack into all kinds of interesting things. I have changed my chicken keeping philosophy a lot over the years, I think to the betterment of their quality of life, and a lot of that is due to this thread, and the people contributing to it, not least of all, Shadrach himself, because it's all about the chickens and what they need, and not about eggs or dinner. And of course, THE PICTURES!
