Sorry for your loss. If that was not from a predator, and it sure looked like it, you may have a chicken who is vent pecking and capable of cannibalism. Look at how much room you have, how many hens, are they getting out to free range, and how much protein is in your chicken feed. Double check the perimeter of your coop, to see if any small animal could have dug in or squeezed in. If the hen was possibly injured before roost time last night, the others may have pecked the blood and added to the injury. Game cameras can be helpful to see what is lurking around your coop at night.
