I've been messing w/ the second applique pattern and am not getting very far, so I found a pieced pattern and modified it a tad, and even though it is quite a few tiny pieces I think I am going to make it for the second 1/2 of the chickens. (I have 6 of the easier applique already made). If I have time and ability I am making a second complete set. If I make that set I have already designed a paper pieced rooster pattern.

Having fun with this block! !! Rainy day here so I worked on patterns, colors and pieces today.

Well I did modify the pattern, but didn't like the results so I went back to the original pattern and it is working better. I have enough of the background fabric to make 4 of the 6 I need. There are lots of pieces in this pattern, but I am glad not to be applique'ing anymore.

Sounds good. Do you have something similar you could use for back ground? With my chickens there are 3 different pots but they are all somewhat similar and look nice.

Yes, there is no limit on participants on this one, we are all doing 12 blocks no matter how many sign up. I would have let Katsdar answer, but believe she is having internet issues.
