Chicken block swap due June 15th

I've been fidgeting around with the red work log cabin idea... mostly because I don't have the blue and green fabrics yet. I'll be able to pick them up next week. Anyway, thought I'd share an idea. Like I said before, I designed my own redwork design and I think it would be difficult to do on a 4" square. So, I was just wasting time here and came up with this idea. The white square is 6-3/4 inches, with 6-1/4 inches showing. It could probably be made at 6" showing (cut at 6-1/2") without too much difficulty and the log cabin strips are 1/2". They could easily make 3/4" strips and just have two instead of three... I don't know...

Of course, this is not what I designed, nor are these my fabrics... that is a surprise for y'all. But I like this on point layout better than having the center square on the level with log cabin strips all the way out to the edge. What do y'all think?

I think it looks good, also that it needs the 3 strips around it not the fatter 2, or it would lose the "log cabin" block feel.

Oh and about the thread bleeding colors, that won't be a problem, I have cross stitched and embroidered w/ many, many colors and never had one to bleed. (at least w/ embroidery thread)

Hahahaha you girls crack me up! Run awaaaaay quilting idea, love it! Like we all dont have enough blocks to think about, we just cant help ourselves. :lau
