Chicken block swap due June 15th

I can not believe how BIG they are next to our Black New Jersey Giant/Orpington chicks. I am wondering if I was given the Jumbo Peking. they are stinking cute and love making a big mess. I read that ducks are the worst in that department.

But of course they can get away with murder the way they look.

I had one called Plucky she was a hoot, spoiled and laid the most beautiful eggs. If you didn't pet her she would lay down right in front of you quacking until you did. My white kitties are getting grey tips on their ears and tails.

ok here is a funny duck story, I didn't know ducks eat fish, and in my pond I had some really nice beautiful Koi. well my Koi went missing so I figured they died and just sunk to the bottom of the pond, so off to go buy more, the cheapest one was $5.00, so another fish is missing and one was found still alive out of the pond, now still having no clue that ducks eat fish, I'm thinking wild bird, then my DH days that is some expensive Sushi your giving the duck, no ducks don't eat fish,

Bad news good news type of fabric store story today.

I went to go get some fusible webbing and remembered it was suppose to be light, but they only had heavy duty, so I thought, oh well it might be a little stiffer but I'll get a small piece to try out on one block so I can see how all the colors will look together. Well as we were coming home I was reading the instructions since I have never used it before, and it says you can't sew the heavy duty stuff at all!!!!!!!!!!!! So now I have to wait and go to another store to see if I can find the light stuff anywhere and still can't see how the fabrics are going to look.

Good news part .................................. while I was waiting for the lady to cut fabric for the person in front of me I was standing right by the remnants bin. Well what caught my attention in the bin .......................................................... a black background fabric that had tweety bird in several diff. poses. Both blocks I have picked out to do are momma hens w/ baby chicks, see where my brain went with that??????? lol lol

My MIL and her daughter may be interested in joining the swap too. I'll let you know when I know.

That sounds pretty cute Kassaundra.

Boy, this swap is becoming quite popular! That's excellent!

No fun on the webbing. I almost had the same thing happen as I did not know there was a difference until I read the instructions. I found mine at Walmart.

Most every Wallyworld in my area has no fabric and a very limited "hobby / craft " section. There is just the one that carries it at all and all they had was the heavy duty stuff. I am going to Muskogee today anyway, so I will go by the Hancock there, they should have it. If not there is a hobby lobby right next store, I will just pre-medicate and hope for the best, maybe since the Christmas season is over I can get away w/ going in if I am quick and know what I'm getting.
