Mine came yesterday, but I was at work so didn't get to see them until today. They are awesome!!!!!! The fabric choices are great, and I am impressed at all the different patterns everyone found or made. And for whoever made the beautiful black and blue roo that is HAND sewn

Thank you all for your creativity and hard work. And Kat for organizing it all.

I think that would be a good idea, there are lots of blocks to choose from here is just one book on the subject
http://www.amazon.com/Underground-R...1419&sr=8-1&keywords=underground+quilt+blocks, I think I will order this next week and then I can share the patterns with you and then you can decide which block to choose from, I think the colors should be muted greys, blues, reds, burnt orange, as back then they didn't really have brights, what do you think?
I made one quilt using this book and have another on the way. This is the one I made for my daughter.

That would be me. I hand sewed all of mine. Sorry everybody but I forgot to label them. Mine have the bright green back ground and the chickens generally have a black fabric with either blue, or another blue, or some other color that would go with the black.

katsdar, if you could give me a ballpark date this would be due, I might be able to make a go of that carpenter's wheel... if Kassaundra decides against it.

Mutes tones are fantastic for me! Those bright colors bother my eyes.
I'm thinking this swap will be due November 15 lots of time to get over the canning etc back to school grind and just before the holiday crunch, what do you all think? I really like the idea of this quilt and yes lets keep it muted tones.

How about December 1st? As I said before, my son is leaving home on November 18 to go into the Navy, and I just can't imagine myself sitting and sewing while my time with him is coming to a close. I know I'll see him again but it will be a while and I'm going to need something to keep me a little bit busy.

I'll start on the blocks as soon as I pick my colors and hopefully I won't be "cramming" to get them done.

I think I will make the center 24" carpenter's wheel and then have the other 12 blocks around the outside... 4 to a side.

Glad your blocks are coming in and you are enjoying them, Anna6 thanks for sharing that beautiful quilt,
I will set up the new swap in a couple of weeks.

we will have it set at 12 swappers, and in the pic there are 15 blocks but I'm sure there are many more to choose from, and you can pic what block you want to do, and we will leave a couple in reserve just in case you need to change blocks at the last min due to time or bitten off more than you can chew, how does that sound? I will get a list of blocks and instructions together and set it up. And we will use Anna6's quilt as a color guide, so does this sound like a plan so far?
