I made one quilt using this book and have another on the way. This is the one I made for my daughter.I think that would be a good idea, there are lots of blocks to choose from here is just one book on the subject
http://www.amazon.com/Underground-R...1419&sr=8-1&keywords=underground+quilt+blocks, I think I will order this next week and then I can share the patterns with you and then you can decide which block to choose from, I think the colors should be muted greys, blues, reds, burnt orange, as back then they didn't really have brights, what do you think?
That would be me. I hand sewed all of mine. Sorry everybody but I forgot to label them. Mine have the bright green back ground and the chickens generally have a black fabric with either blue, or another blue, or some other color that would go with the black.Mine came yesterday, but I was at work so didn't get to see them until today. They are awesome!!!!!! The fabric choices are great, and I am impressed at all the different patterns everyone found or made. And for whoever made the beautiful black and blue roo that is HAND sewn![]()
Thank you all for your creativity and hard work. And Kat for organizing it all.
I'm thinking this swap will be due November 15 lots of time to get over the canning etc back to school grind and just before the holiday crunch, what do you all think? I really like the idea of this quilt and yes lets keep it muted tones.katsdar, if you could give me a ballpark date this would be due, I might be able to make a go of that carpenter's wheel... if Kassaundra decides against it.
Mutes tones are fantastic for me! Those bright colors bother my eyes.
