Chicken Breed Focus - Cochin

Pics
I'm looking for some Lavender/Self Blue cochins. I would take LF or bantam. Any breeders out there wanting to sell some chicks(preferable) or eggs? Thanks.

Also, does anyone work on silkied bantam cochins? I have a blue silkied Roo that is built exactly like a cochin but he is silky feathered. All his chicks have had normal cochin feathering....if I breed them together, is there a chance of getting more silkied feathered birds? Or could he produce it himself?

Thanks for any wisdom you folks will share.

I've heard of someone on here having red silkied cochins. There are also some pictured on feathersite.com. Maybe you can trade genetics although I don't know what blue x red would look like. As for inbreeding lots of breeders do it, after all it was needed to create new breeds. I don't know if I could do it myself but I have to be grateful for the breeds created otherwise there may only be few breeds like junglefowl around.
Ideal poultry sells self blue cochins but I don't know about their quality. Breeders usually want to keep eggs and chicks themselves but may have adults available.

Chochins are one of my absolute favorite breeds! I have the bantam sized in all sorts of colors. They are full of personality and adorable. The great thing with the bantams, you can have more! I'm currently breeding mille fluer coloring. Can you see them in the trees? Lol
