Did you click the star at the top of this page under the title? Right next to the posts read and right above "Start a new thread". Also check out the International Black Copper Marans thread! LOL

I thought I posted a reply but it doesn't show up. If this is a second reply I apologize but I wanted to get in the discussion Moran's and post a picture of my big guy. I've been raising Wheaten Marans for about 5 years now and I think they're the most beautiful breed there is. My cock of the yard is not a purebred I don't believe. Because I've been told the gold collar disqualifies him as a purebred. However I think this makes him more beautiful than his purebred cousin.T his picture doesn't show how brilliantly his feathers shine in the sunshine but I hope you can imagine.

He's Beautiful!

Thank-you for the complement. Next to to the title there is only an arrow. No star anywhere. Well I got the notice anyway.

I've been trying to get a Black Copper Maran for ages, I thought I got lucky with my last batch of eggs, but the sole Black Copper that hatched ended up being a roo. A pretty roo, but I had to give him away. I also got a Blue Copper hen out of that batch, but she's not due to start laying until November so I've got to wait and see what her eggs will be like. I do have a Blue Splash Maran as well and she is as sweet as can be, in fact her name is Sweetie. She lays beautifully speckled eggs :D

well spend some money and get some of the best from Little Peddler ( website)
Best,
Karen
