I used to live out by lanseria, moved from there about 1.5 years ago , major crime problem , we stayed there for 2 years in a small complex with 10 free standing units , complex was broken into 4 times in that period by armed robbers , my mom was staying there at the same time and they cleaned her out while she was away for easter

Oh well... now there are 4. I had the 1 die in my arms an hour ago. Sucks but such is life I suppose. She just didn't come right. The other 4 are very happy chooks though. Bugger

@Colin Fow Yes that seems to be a prob the plot we were looking at was further away from the nasties but has not elec or water - quite away down almost to Harties, but totally re thinking the whole thing. Wanted to buy out there because of the Fourways expansio0n plan but maybe not - Used to crime though had armed robbery two hijackings and two break ins. OMG that sounds so awful. Think we will stay for the mo, hubby still looking at various areas...Just wanted more chooks love them so much .

@Macksy So sorry I had the same thing with Flower she just upped and sat on the rock and died in my arms also, I was devasted didn't know what was wrong or how to help - absolutely hate it when they do that,

so sorry for you.

I was robbed at gun point 3 times in my own home when I was in JHB also in that area. Thats when I packed up and left for Marble Hall

So sorry @Macksy it is not nice, we lost a few over the years it is a part of life, sure the rest are giving you tons of entertainment.
@whoop whoop , we were about half way between the air port and harties, another problem there that you must watch out for is that a lot of the area is part of the cradle of human kind world heritage site so you are not allowed too build any new structures or anything, thats why you get a lot of places that are selling with houses that are falling apart because people are not allowed to do anything even though they own the land.
